Daniel J. Rowen Memorial Design Awards
The AIA Peconic Design Awards is an annual award program that celebrates firms and individuals who demonstrate their outstanding architectural excellence and advance the architectural discourse on the East End of Long Island.
CATEGORIES
Architecture - celebrate outstanding architecture regardless of project size, budget, style, or building type. New buildings and major additions are eligible.
Historic Preservation and Adaptive Reuse - celebrate projects that restore, remodel, preserve or re-purpose existing buildings of any type or style.
Unbuilt Projects - celebrate unbuilt architecture, planning, urban design, and research. Submissions may be real or conceptual but must reflect a solution related to the built environment.
Emerging Professionals - celebrate outstanding architectural design work (built or un-built) by Associates, Students and Architects licensed for less than ten (10) years.
Sustainable Architecture - celebrate built projects on the merits of environmental stewardship.
AWARDS
Honor Award - represents the highest level of design and performance with excellence in innovative design strategy from plan through to the finished imagery and/or completion.
Merit Award - represents distinguished achievement with exemplary execution of design principles and presentation.
Juror Award - will be decided upon by the jury for any project in any or all categories, as they see fit. Recognizing excellence in resolving specific programmatic desires through interpretation of style, technologies, sustainability, materials and/or vernacular influences.
People's Choice Award - to be determined by registered attendees of the Design Awards Celebration via digital vote conducted the week leading up to the event. Recognition of excellence in Architectural Design as voted on by colleagues and peers.
ELIGIBILITY
AIA Peconic members may submit projects located anywhere in the world, including those located within AIA Peconic Chapter’s geological boundaries.
Any registered architects may submit projects located within the chapter’s geographic boundaries.
Any project that has won a previous award from AIA Peconic is no longer eligible
Number of entries allowed: six
AWARDS EXHIBITION
An exhibition of awards submissions is open to the public April 18 through May 4, 2025 at Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts.
