The Anthony DiSunno - AIA Peconic Scholarship Committee braved the winter chill to begin planning for their 2018 Scholarship Awards. AIA Peconic is the Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for the East End of Long Island, New York. The committee is seeking applications for the following scholarships from East End High School seniors and graduates who plan to attend or are presently attending accredited Schools of Architecture.

 

 

FINANCIAL AID SCHOLARSHIP- Minimum $ 750 up to $ 4,500

The Financial Aid Scholarship is open to any undergraduate or graduate student about to start or currently enrolled in an accredited School of Architecture. The student must have graduated from any high school in one of the East End Towns of Riverhead, Southhold, Shelter Island, East Hampton or Southampton

 

MERIT SCHOLARSHIP- Minimum $ 750 up to $ 3,000

The Merit Scholarship is open to any undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in, and having completed their first year of, an accredited School of Architecture. The student must have graduated from any high school in one of the East End Towns of Riverhead, Southhold, Shelter Island, East Hampton or Southampton.

      The 2018 AIA Peconic / Anthony DiSunno Scholarship Committee (Richard Sheckman AIA, Michael Brown AIA and Christopher DiSunno AIA) recently met to select the 2018 Scholarship winners. The goal of this committee is to present $7,500 in merit and financial aid scholarships to several deserving applicants.  AIA Peconic is a Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The presentation of these awards took place July 12th at the AIA Peconic Annual Scholarship Picnic, held on the grounds of the Southampton Historical Museum in Southampton.

      This 2018 class of scholarship winners represent high schools from several of the east end communities and the students are matriculated with colleges and universities throughout the United States.  The funds for this Scholarship Program are raised through the proceeds of the AIA Peconic Golf and Dinner Event which is open to the public and will take place on September 11 at Gardiner’s Bay Country Club.  Reservation forms and additional information can be found on the AIA Peconic website, http://aiapeconic.org.  Also a portion of this scholarship fund was provided by an AIA Component Scholarship grant from AIA National.
