AIA PECONIC ANNOUNCES THEIR AIANYS REPRESENTATION FOR 2015

AIA PECONIC is pleased to announce Dominic L. LaPierre AIA as their

representative to AIANYS. Dominic will serve as a liaison between the AIA PECONIC chapter and the state organization of AIA.

AIA PECONIC, a component of The American Institute of Architects, is embarking, in 2015, on several important projects that will impact the  local  communities.

AIA Peconic members will be present at the annual GRASSROOTS Convention in Washington DC on March  4-6, 2015.  Guided by a vision for the future of the profession, the conference provides AIA leaders with tools to influence and pursue action that will strengthen their components, firms, communities and society at large. There are opportunities for creative dialogue through general sessions, workshops, networking and peer to peer connections. Leaders exchange information and ideas, provide input on AIA initiatives and advocate the AIA’s federal agenda to members of Congress, working collectively toward a better future for architects. The agenda emphasizes component leadership and includes a dynamic legislative conference and workshops designed to help component officers and aspiring leaders become effective chapter and civic leaders

On April 28 Dominic will lead a group of AIA Peconic members to Lobby Day in Albany.  "Architects in Albany Day" will be held this year on Tuesday April 28 at the Legislative Office Building in Albany. Last year attendees met with over 90 legislators to discuss issues of concern to all involved.

May 14-16 AIA will hold its annual convention in Atlanta and reservations are being made already.  Many members of AIA Peconic will be in attendance and be able to attend the presentation by Luis Peris, AIA.  Luis is the 2015 President of AIA Peconic. President Bill Clinton's day one keynote address is a feature of this AIA Annual Convention. 300+ career-changing workshops, seminars, tours, and events led by visionaries, grassroots champions, change agents, and rising stars. A dynamic expo floor turned into a temporary built environment with hundreds of exhibitors, first looks, and surprises will be the keystone of this 2015 AIA Convention.
